We have 2 acres of soybeans and 1 acre of sunflowers.  There are 5 to 9 deer in these plots every night.  Soybeans haven't gotten more than 5 inches tall. Deer walk down the rows and nip off every plant.  The deer didn't touch the sunflowers until a month ago and now are attacking them every night.

Yes they are planted for the critters.  I don't hunt by the food plots.  It's for my parents and kids.  They love watching the fawns play.  We have an orphan fawn that spends hours out there.  Comes out at all hours of the day.  Mother was hit on the road 3 weeks ago.  Other does chase it away. It follows a spike buck and 6 pointer around when they show up.  The flowers are just starting to head out.  Hopefully the deer leave a few heads for the birds.
