I saw a "thing" recently saying that the meat in a tube is safer than meat ground in your own store.  They said grinding each time as they do can introduce bacteria easier than a big operation does???  Always wondered if it is true.

That's great Glenn.  We haven't done that for awhile.  So how many pounds of meat?  Do you know?  How did you get it cut?

dont know how heavy. one of my coworkers farms some in southern mn near owatonna.

made chops, link sausage, couple hams and yes even some bacon. i think we got some ham steaks also!!!!!

it depends on the operation, in other words what is sanitation program like?????  any can be good and any can be crap....

I was kinda curious about the sleeves as well. I see it in the grocery store locally now. The local meat market where we get our lamb processed recently switched from wrapping the burger in clear plastic then white paper to the plastic sleeves. End product seems to be the same quality & no one's been sick. The market appears to be a stickler on cleanliness relative to what I remember of the place we got lamb processed as a kid. Prolly doesn't hurt that the sanitation once I start the prep for grilling involves lots of hand washing.

we bought them tubes before. there not the hamburger we are used to from the half or 1/4 we usually get. it works though!!

The ground beef items were produced and packaged on June 21st of 2018 and may be contaminated with E. coli O26.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 86R” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

Consumers are urged not to use the products and are advised to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.

that most likely would be on the Minnesota site as that is a State plant and not federal...
