My son and I hunted this past weekend.  Great weather and food but few bucks on the move (at least close to us).  It's really hard to see an approaching deer and several "popped" up very close before I saw them.  It's pretty bad when you see a deer standing there and you have no idea where it came from.  Here are some view from 4 stands I spent time in.  Lots of leaves means lots of cover for the deer.

Lots and lots of acorns.  I'm guessing the deer simply eat for a while and then lay down for a while.  Not having to move far for food.  Saturday evening I watched a doe eat acorns for a while.  My guess is they will be eating them as long as they can dig them out of the snow.
