Yes,  330 are used for beaver.  I use a trap setter.  Basically just 2 metal bars with notches on the ends that work like a big pliers.
330 have to be at least 50% submerged to be legal in minesota.

So how does the stand work, and why 50% underwater?

I've trapped rabbits, weasels, coons and gophers.... just learning about these dang beavers & otters. Cause they gotta go.
Nobody around here traps anymore, so I guess it's up to me.

A dog can easily stick his head in a 330 and then its game over. If it half submerged dog shouldn't stick his head in it. Coni stands are quicker than using sticks.
