I got this photo of a group going onto our land during the muzzleloader season.  I was there the day after and discovered
where they killed a deer on our property.  I did not get a picture of them leaving with the deer.

Most people should be able to understand this sign.

I'm not sure if he decided not to go in or stayed there as a "stander" for a drive. 


Blood evidence shows the deer was shot 20 feet from the gut pile.  The woods in the background is ours
as well as where the deer was killed.

How many pics did you get of the last guy?  Did he just hang outside by the gate while the others hunted?

Maybe he was the lookout in case someone drove in, he could notify the others by cell phone.

deadeye, the one thing i noticed in all your trespass pictures is the lack of pictures of where they park. is there anyplace you can hang a camera that would catch the plates on vehicles???? at that point you could turn that over to a CO!!!!

You need to start making it Real with a big sign that says:

"As you Trespass on my land, keep asking yourself if you are in my Crosshairs"

Very disheartening to see six guys come tromping in like that.  You'd hope one guy would say, maybe we shouldn't be doing this, but that doesn't always happen in today's world.

Was that a second deer you found poached on your place during muzzle loader season or just pictures from the first one?

Yes, the sign is not a harsh "KEEP OUT" sign. I purposefully use this one because I just don't like seeing the others.

This is the same one that was poached on the same day the phots of the hunting gang passed the gate.

I do have a photo of a plate but it was not on this day and I don't know if they actually passed the gate.
However, with that said, the gate is about 100 yards onto our land so if they reach the gate, they have
already tresspassed.  I may have to put up another but I'm a little leary of losing my cameras.

Down to Hunt Responsibly  It may be a way for those who want to hunt there to rationalize that you don't mind if they are there if they hunt responsibly.  ???  You know what kind of people we are talking about here.  Obviously if you give them an inch they have already taken a mile.

I don't disagree with you, DE.

Yeah, there are a lot of funny no trespassing signs, but in the real world discretion is the better part of valor.  There is no point in getting someone all riled up when they can do more harm to you than (i.e. vandalism) you can to them (hard to catch 'em red-handed).  Best to provide law enforcement with the best intel you can and let them handle things.

To that end, it sure would be nice to have one of those camera's connected to a cell phone.  Worse case scenario - if they steal your camera, hopefully it has already sent a photo of their license plate and faces to your computer.  OR, if you can find a pretty good hiding place/camouflage for the expensive camera, stick a cheap-o camera out where it is only partially hidden.  Let them steal that and think they are safe.

I have been looking into this also. Looking at the Spypoint Link EVO. Works over the cell network. Also looking at the Spy High mounting system, that looks like something I will be getting in the future.

Couple problems with cameras that transmit photos.  Cell coverage is spotty at my land and it can be expensive being you pay deerly (dearly) for each photo.  A simple malfunction could cost hundreds.

How long have you owned this land ? Maybe this group have hunted it for years and one new sign and a gate doesn't register for them.  I agree with the sign,  gotta get firmer it looks, your gate cam seems high up for nobody to see, set one back on the driveway high up and get some plates, its obvious the last couple of years of pics you've shared they wont stop until the law is involved..

I have a few old  cameras that don't work.  You could hang one on the gate next to the sign.

I like the idea of having a few "visible" decoy cameras.  That should get them thinking there are more around.

The poor cell coverage would be an issue. As far as cost, Spypoint has several different packages all the way from free up to $15.00\month. The Free package is up to 100 photos per month and the $15.00\month is unlimited photos per month. They even have a package called hunt which is for 3 months that is $25.00 and unlimited photos. IT is cheaper than I thought. The main reason I have started looking this is to try and catch whoever keep stealing my stuff. Put out a decoy camera that don't work and the cellular camera up high in a tree. Figure it may be worth a shot.

Here's an idea to hide your game camera in plain site. Maybe this wouldn't work in your specific spot, but it gets you thinking...hollowing out a chunk of log, then make a pile a logs with that special log in the pile... or I'm sure there are many other crafty way to conceal your camera to get the shot you need.
