frozen septic line

Heres one to save some money these winters with no snow in minnesota. Next time your septic line freezes, instead of calling a plumber to have it steamed out for $150.00. Get yourself a smaller version from your local do-it-yorself store, they use them for cleaning windows and removing wall paper. They cost about $50.00, get enough hose to reach down your line and presto you can flush your biffy again. Wish I would have tried this before having my lines steamed 3 times this winter but I never thought of it until the last time.

L-L, unfortunately, this year has been no friend to the septic systems in northern MN.
I bet one out of three people have frozen systems.
yep, ours got the big freeze too. first time ever!
we now have to have our tank pumped every other week to ten days or so, give or take, at a cost of $120.00 >:(
the only one smiling id the septic pumping crew. they are working 12 hour days and weekends.
lets just hope for an early thaw.

Hey  Jig,
grab hold of a tanker and put it behind white lightning,
set up the pumps and then ya will know what it's like to be in deep "chit" man.  ;D

just remember to put down a few bail of hay. Its only a couple buxs and it saves you from the headaches of frozen pipes.

Another thing to try is dump a bag or softner salt into your biffy and flush it down this will eat at the freeze as well
