Funny, I just made the mistake of setting a hot frypan on some chinese "wicker" after dumping some stuff that I burnt due to forgetting it on stove.    Ran out the door, dumped the black stuff, came in and set pan on "wicker" on breezeway.   Mistake.

Oh, and had to use a random orbital sander to get the plastic off the bottom of the pan....   Worked great, hasn't been that shiny in a while.
