What are your opinions on dog parks? I personally go on occasion but don't like them. I have heard some horror stories of dogs being attacked and even killed but don't have any proof of this actually happening. I have seen some unruly dogs and dog owners though. Any thoughts or opinions?

When I lived closer I used to go on a daily basis. When I worked midnights I used to go almost every morning after work. I have never experienced anything dangerous at one of these. For the most part people are pretty level headed and bring dogs that belong. Every once in a while you will run into trouble but then again that is life. I have taken two of my dogs there and they both have loved it! So...for the most part I think they are great and glad they have them. My 2 favorite dog parks are the Battle Creek one and the one in Shoreview......those are the only two I will go to anymore.

I actually did alot of training with my dog at the one in Shoreview. I thought that maybe it would help her be a better hunter with other dogs. All those dogs running anround and different smells and she stayed focused on what we were doing. Teach her to ignore other dogs.

I think they have there benefits and think they are a good idea in theory but have heard some bad things. Even some trainers or dog "experts" I have talked to say it is a horrible idea because even a well mannered/trained dog can be overcome by there natural pack mentality and cause problems. Like I said though I have not witnessed anything real out of line. My dog seems to enjoy himself when we do go but I try and avoid it if I can. There just isn't another place to run your dog in a city legally.
