Has sprung! sunrise saturday morning greeted us with a full sky from east to west as far as you could see the sky was full of migrating birds from waterfowl(every species of ducks) to birds of prey, mostly bald eagles with a few goldens in the mix.

good idea, but I gave away my electric bradley smoker, might give the pellet grill a whirl at jerky? My ole lady was a great asset among other things we teamed up making jerky.I shot the critters and setup the smoker she sliced and seasoned the meat but she passed on a few years ago so not sure iffin I'll do the deed? but next trip next week I'll have more from south dakota the way it looks, this mass migration is moving forward big time.

Thanx LPS kinda over it  finally, time heals but not completely, having a quirky golden retriever sure helps, the goofball sleeps on my hunting gear everyday as he know's what's up,tweaking my ecaller and hand call he get's fired up I feel guilty moving my gear, its bad luck to wash your hunting cloths ya know, well until you can't stand your own smell lol..

snowing in aberdeen today but we're heading out once the storm passes, famer called me said he has well over 10k snow geese sitting on and around his stock pond off a picked cornfield with more birds piling in daily,so we're fired up,just hope my ammo supply lasts. odd sunny and clear at my place in chamberlain but no snowgeese just honkers and ducks, seems spring has the mass heading north 50miles either side of the james river, north central flyway has a est of 5.5 million snowgeese that migrate thru to the artic circle.can't imagine the mess they make once they all get there.

couple weeks ago last time at my farm in chamberlain the river was still locked up in town, last weekend neighbors said they were fishing open water below the dam.

Boar agreed about waterfowl in south dakota,I'll  have resident status next fall ,no more non rez lottery for a license, hunted many times on the brule lower rez for geese when we didn't get pulled for a waterfowl tag, couple farm boyz had a nice hunting camp setup just off the river, purchase a rez hunting license over the counter and your good to go,once crops were down the farmers dug pits along the river, pass shooting or diy decoy setup, good times great hunting/shooting.
