LPS, how do you like the Harbor Freight welding cart? I was thinking of getting that one, but wasn’t sure how good it would work.

I am glad you asked Coop.  I will take a pic of it today and show it to you.  I am very impressed with it.  The drawers are real nice a are smooth glide ones.  The tin it is made of is stronger than I thought it would be.  Most of it is already put together except for wheels, handles etc.  The easy stuff.  The drawers are going to be great to put my supplies in.  Would buy it again in a heart beat.  Took about 5 days to arrive.  That's not bad.  Was $189 I think.

That is sweet! You even got your cover gas already. Have you tried it out yet?

Just made my extension cord adaptor combo so it plugs into my arc welder outlet.  Got the wire run through the hose but haven't welded anything yet.  The rib project grabbed my attention now.  I want to make a campfire grate that I can raise and lower and swivel out of the fire.  Found a good youtube video on it.  I will modify his to meet my needs.   :sleazy:

As promised,  :sleazy: chisels I made. Biggest one I listened to my supervisor and beveled both sides.  :tut: I use it mainly to check first ice. 3/4 inch bar stock. One is 1/2 inch bar stock, smallest is 5/16 bar stock.

Barry, where did you get your tank at? And what gas are you running?

I got it at Auto Value here.   It is 75% Argon and 25% CO2.  That is a 40 cf bottle.  That is good for 2 hours of steady welding if you set it at 20%.  Was $34.  Not sure if there will be an extra tank charge yet.

Same gas I am using. My tank comes from Airgas and the closet supplier is in Grand Forks. Do you know where AutoValue gets them from?

I think Cenex gets theirs from Praxair. Thanks!  :happy1: Have fun with the new metal gluer.

Got parts today.  May start construction tomorrow.  I need to get some cut off wheels for my 4" grinder.  The ones I have are real thick.  Then I can 45 my angle iron with that.

I learned from the video sent with my welder that when you use flux core you hook your ground up to the positive and the power up to the negative.  For using gas you hook the ground up to negative and the power up to positive.  Mine was reversed.  Welds much better now.  And there is a gauge at the bottom of the heat chart showing how thick your metal is.  That helped me too.

Done making it narrower.  The hitch is tommorow project. No sense in rushing. :sleazy: :rotflmao:

somewhere around there. I didn't measure it when I started, just knew I was aiming for 39 inches center to center on the skies

Took a good look at the hitch. Looks like simply making it shorter where it connects to the sled would be simple enough but then I don't think it's going to hook up very well to whatever I use to pull with

yeppers, after I posted that I was studying that picture. Going to weld some flat stock to the front of the skies to make the hitch longer. Maybe by 5-6 inches.
