I seen this pic on a wall of a trail side watering hole, while snowmobiling this past week

The pic said it was caught on Rainy Lake. The fish was something like 48" long and 55lbs

Anybody, I dought it was caught in Rainy...as a person would have read about it somewhere in a Minnesota publication

Caught almost ayear ago by a Dutch fisherman in the Netherlands.  It's been going around e-mails since last summer and was posted as caught on the Rainey then too.   It was cleared up in the magazine "Esox" as to who and where the photo came from.  Looking at the photo, from day one you could tell it's not the Rainey by the backround... also as you pointted out, this would make the news, newspaper, internet forums etc. within 24 hours of being caught.  But the only place you see it or hear about it is through e-mails... It was a great hoax though....

Good Luck!

Ken

It wasn't in Canada. The guy was on the cover of......I believe it was esox??

Anyways, do some web searching. You will find many fish like this that are caught over there. Northern pike fishing is huge and they are huge as well. This guy is well known over there as you will find him pictured with many fish of this size.

Guys, I was with yoga boy when he caught this beast.  It was at Stokes Bay Resort on Rainy Lake.  Someone has faked that picture.  Here is the real deal.

Real nice dogstyler. Thanks for the shrunken head.

Attention MNO members - despite the seamless craftsmanship applied to the  original photo - the photo Dogstyler has submitted is a hoax. I did not catch that fish.
