So,my birds are messy eaters,I have  a bumper crop of sunflowers around my bird feeders, someone explain why all the flower heads are facing the east?,not just one or two flowers but at least 15 or 20 sunflower heads?,because of morning sun? then shade until sundown from trees? just curious.

Same reason people are buried facing east. To meet the new day and rising sun.

 ;)   Hey guys!

Snow, what I found :

“As the overall growth of the plant slows down gradually, the circadian rhythm ensures that the plant reacts more strongly to sunlight early in the morning than the afternoon or evening. This is why a mature sunflower doesn't move with the sun throughout the day; rather, it just faces east.”

I also react more to the early am sun thru my window as I mature.
I roll over in bed.
