We have had a bear come through our yard every year in about July for the last 7 years.  Had that one bend our shepherds hook a month ago and here is the first time a bear has gone into our spruces to eat the oats we put out for the deer by the trail cam in the summer.  Has always puzzled us.  Well this picture makes up for it.  Look how long their hair is.  The photo is from last Sunday but the date is wrong on our camera.  We will update it.

Not exactly but I would say around noon or so.  A little later they showed up in our yard as we were watching the Twins on Sunday.  Walked right past the house and into our big yard.  So that was around 2 I think.

Wow!!! A great pic, Barry! Do Buddy & Cooper bark at 'em...if they do, how do the bears react?

Yes when they came into the yard I said hey look at the bears and Buddy and Cooper and the wife all got excited.  LOL  Buddy started the barking and then Cooper joined in.  The bears moved to a slow trot around the yard and then out of here.  Was great to see!

We were bummed that we didn't get a good pic of them.  Little did we know that one of our cams got them.  May be our coolest picture ever!

That was a pile of sunflower seeds other bird seed and oats.  They didn't eat much of it which surprised me.  I would have thought they would cleaned it up.

That's what I thought, but I don't know a whole lot about bears. Would it be because of the heat and everything dried up maybe? Are there lotsa berries and such this year?

Food is scarce with all of the heat and no rain.  That's why I am surprised they didn't eat more of that pile.

You should send that pic to Minnysoda Dept of Tourism....they use good pics from people on their tourism website and their Minnesota brochures.
I did that years ago with a pic of sunrise on Lake Pepin and they used it in one of their brochures.
Hands down they'd use yours! :happy1:

Been more than a few sightings around here this year too, even in the middle of the day. Many of the people around the lake had to take down their bird feeders this year, especially early on.
