seen live rabbits that way too...  never ate them when we'd shoot one hunting..

What a shame.  Once I saw a buck hanging around my stand and could tell something was not right.  I got close and shot it to put it out of his misery.  He had a basketball looking thing under his skin on his neck and a few more that made moving his front legs hard for him.

As a youngster bow hunting and trapping,anytime one of us shot a horned rabbit it was considered a trophy,been years since I've seen one,never a deer like this.
