i checked the horseshoe chain.........10X more open water then sunday...... and i'd venture to bet even iffin ya could get on it, it aint safe!!!!

 A couple people were out on the bay ~ 5. They walked out & stayed 'til it started to get dark.

Quite a bit of open water, ~ 50-60yds, over by the bridge on Mn 46. All the way from where you go into Little Cutfoot to past the Mosomo Pt PA. The DNR usually sets up their egg stripping station right there were it goes back into Little Cutfoot.

A couple more out on the bay by ~ noon today, 1 had a wheeler.

Gunner....have you actually checked the ice yet???? Kettle over on FM said about 10 days ago some of the lakes he drives by on 38 looked like honeycombed ice, and a few that had open water . not much..but those where typical of opening up first!

  well...its a Saturday morning........ and there isnt a soul out fishing on any of the 4 webcams up north......kinda tells ya something about the ice.....one would think!!!!

  Just got a refill myself!! Conditions must be favorable here like URL & LOW yet too, as those same 2 guys are out there again now. I 1st noticed 'em ~ 4:30 & it looked like they'd just got out to me. That makes it everyday but yday, since we got here on Wednesday. It was ~ noon on Thursday for them though. I see a wheeler but no tent.

On the river it moved about 2 or 3 miles since yesterday.  Still 18 miles appx from Baudette.  It will speed up with this warm windy weather.  Just a channel in the middle at this point.

I see the ice is getting darker on the river.  May have to take a drive to the Frontier Landing today or tomorrow.

That wind yday pushed everything over along our shore & by early afternoon had broken that up even more. I could see open water along the shore & again about 20-30' out. With it being very glenn-like again today, I don't expect there to be much left tomorrow.

As it gets light I can see the river is skimmed over.  I can see some ripples close to our shoreline.

That is the least amount of info they could have given us.  So where on the river?  It is many miles long.  What a group of complete idiots.  SO I can just hear their though pattern.  They trailer is light.  Let's load it up with 6 or 7 people since it is so light.  We can make it.  ?????

We just got home from the Falls.  Just saw an airboat behind a truck heading east.  Maybe they were involved with the rescue. Sure would like to hear some info about it.  I will look.

Ya, you wouldn't catch me on the river ice now. The lake on the other hand still has a solid 20" of ice on it.
