We have 3, got 1 from the dealership when we bought it. They arranged for their locksmith to be there when we got the cars & he sold us 1 at 1/3 off retail. My brother found the other 1 online for $60 & we programmed it ourselves. I keep 1 spare in the trunk of the car, 1 stays in a safe in my closet, & I use the other.

There nice in the winter, but I think I like them a little more in the summer to cool off a hot car that’s been sitting in the sun. Keep the windows down about an inch and start it up a couple minutes before you get in.

It was standard equipment on our 2020 Escapes & I use it the most this time of year.

I forgot to mention that the aftermarket ones, they were actually 2/$50 I learned, need 2 working smart keys/fobs in order to program them. Our owners manual gave us instructions on how to do it & it's actually pretty easy once you've done it. Almost any locksmith should have replacements or can get them,  cut the new key & program it. Much cheaper than a dealership, I would hope.
