Same spot at different times.  They are not standing beside each other.  Someone else picture.

A few years ago I saw 5 of them.  All of them were alone.  Haven't actually laid eyes on one for a couple of years now.

That video was very neat.  You gotta be a cool customer to not be worried that the woofie might see a slow, fat, juicy snowmobiler out of the corner of his eye and forget about that mangy coyote.  Or hope that the the coyote wouldn't try to dodge behind the sleds for cover.

My folks saw something similar on a tour bus trip in Alaska.  Some wolves were chasing down a dahl sheep.  The sheep saw the tour bus and ran over next to it trying to find protection.  The wolves circled, eventually flushed it, and then took it down.  Everyone on the bus had a front row seat to the kill.  They said it was incredible.

We had 7 of them up by Outing, mn run through our stands when bow hunting. They were all in a straight line going through the wood across, not following each other.

They were making a drive.

My thought exactly.  It was kind of eerie, they just trotted silently like a big hoover vacuuming machine all in a line. 3 on one side and 4 on the other right passed me on my stand.

Unfortunately our area is thick with wolves and the hunting over the last three years has been non existent.

I saw a pack of 13 and witnessed by another hunter a few hundred years away. Sounded like a freight train when they came running by.

Saw a pack of 5 during grouse season when I had my dog with, got the heck out of there.

Last year I had one trot passed me on the deer stand.

With the lack of deer we are hoping they move out and ruin someone else’s area. Lol.

I have seen a dozen or so since we have lived up here. Like you I have not seen one for a couple of years either.

Few years ago, read an article in minnesota outdoor news, can't remember who wrote the article? but the author was from duluth and was grouse hunting near two harbors with his GSP,walking a clear cut powerline trail, his GSP disappeared into the thick brush and didn't return to hunter's command, hunter found his GSP tore up but alive ,had tooth puncture wounds into pup's lungs and crushed ribs, hunter never seen or herd the attack, just tracks, scary critters.

There's a lot of state & federal ground on the west side of the river & lake until you get most of the way up in the NW corner of the lake. Usually hear of wolf encounters over there at least 2-3 times a year. Most are just sightings, but everybody knows to not just let their pets run over there too. Somebody posted pics of a pack of 9 out on the ice heading for 1 of the islands a few years ago.

good friend loves deer hunting talks about deer hunts all 12 months but hasn't shot one in years.he hunts near longville minn, public land little to no hunting pressure and no deer just wolves and wolf tracks galore, friend is to stubborn to hunt a different area.lol

he claimed two years ago federal trappers from U.S dept of agriculture came in in sept to cull the local wolf population feeding on local farm cattle in the county, motel owner where these trappers stayed claimed the agents claimed culling double digit nusence wolves eliminated over a two week period, just think if PETA got wind of this story. I'm not sure if I believe this but ya never know.
