Watching local news these days and current sporting events, ain't gonna lie I miss the excitement but have issues with pro atheletes disrepecting our national anthem, flag. So I and many others have opted out of viewing these activities,no offense to others that still enjoy.

Looking back to the 1950's watching basket ball with my dad,the mpls lakers, then in the 60's golden gophers, twins we youngens had many idols, knew many players by name, baseball cards etc, thing's sure changed,I often wonder if our young ppl today have sports idols like years past?

For good or ill...  yes, I think young people still idolize sports heroes and (unfortunately) celebrities and (even worse) internet influencers.

I agree. Haven't watched a professional sporting event in years. Any sport. Living near Mankato, I support my local high school and college student athletes. I like the Moon Dogs baseball team, too.
I used to be cute and adorable. Then, I had my first birthday. Been downhill ever since.

Now now glenn, you know OT  replies and political doesn't fair well here....

speaking of pro atheletes, you guyz catch "Mike Tyson" snapping on his jet blu flight? why mess with Tyson drunk or sober? the pounding this guy took wouldn't be worth any amount of money he might get if that was his motive if he get's anything at all.

I'd forgotten he'd bit Holyfield's ear off. I hope he flossed afterwards... :embarrassed:

If I recall he beat up Robin Givens didn't he? He was a real piece of work, I'm surprised he has stayed out of trouble.
