I was going to name this thread as cold blooded snowmobile but the damn thing won't even start after its warm. (fyi-it was a biatch to start before my overhaul, so i don't think i messed anything up)

I went through most everything this fall. I took apart both carbs. replaced all fuel lines and filters. Adjusted throttles and chokes. Replaced Jackshaft bearing and driveshaft. Adjust drive chain and track tension.

New spark plugs gapped (one thing i didn't do was check for good spark)
Compression ~120 per cylinder

The fuel lines actually looked great as I've only used non-oxy.

1998 Indy 500 (no electric or reverse)
~3500 miles

Efn thing took about 15 solid minutes to start the other day. WTF! Anything else I can do? Was thinking about installing a fuel primer bulb...

Frustrating. Is there a coil on that?  Maybe it is low spark. ???  Primer bulb isn't a bad idea.  I have a primer on my older Skidoo.

But did yu replace the fuel line inside the gas tank. They have a tendency to deteriorate and fall to the bottom of the tank. Sounda to me like its not getting fule, but wen it dose it finnaly runs by usage flow, one it stops it has to be forced again, thers a hockey puck size fuel pump thingy that tje lines atach to. Also could your carbs be over loaded with fuel wen starting, i had a polar ass triple that i had to drain the bowls if the carbs took to much fuel wen starting

Boar-

Thanks for commenting. But unfortunately, yes- I also replaced the fuel hose into the tank and replace the tank hose filter as well

And when I finally get it running, it runs just fine. I didn’t replace the air hose from the carbs to the air box but when blowing into them, those seemed okay.

Just stumped. I also agree that it’s possible starving of fuel. I’ll choke at pull start a few times and see if the plugs look wet. I still want to check the spark.

Do you think it could be a failing CDI box?

Did you just clean the carbs or put in new carb rebuild kit?  If its the original 20+ year old needle value and seat I would replace it. Hard to get good gas flow with a corroded set. Also what did you set your carb air screws at?
If it's not those two you may want to look at the fuel pump.
