Same here mikey. Was surprised to see as much ice on St. Olaf as I did this a.m. If it gets as warm as they're saying and the wind comes up, doubt the ice will stay just yet. The ducks and geese were doing their best, same as every year, trying to keep it open by the access. I gotta look closer when I head home but it almost looked like there were some snow geese in the mix. In the quick glance I got, they didn't appear big enough to be swans. Snows aren't something we see every day down this direction.

Lake near town here has frozen over. 30's for highs the next 10 days. won't make a lot of ice.

Went out and picked up dog bombs.  It is really nice out.  The wind has died down and is from the south.  32 and only down to 24 tonight then 38 tomorrow.

Of course when I went back past the lake access around noon, all the waterfowl had skedaddled. Prolly out feeding so might have to check on them tomorrow if I get a chance. The temperature has improved vastly from 0 this morning, currently 28. Still a pretty stiff south breeze but if you can get out of it, it feels downright balmy.

Just came in from graining and brushing Bucko.  It is calm and very humid.  A little hazy.  Feels like it could snow or rain here any minute.

Topped out about 36 here but with the damp, south wind gusting up to 20 mph, it felt raw out in the open. Punted on the dogwood harvesting for now. Live to fight another day. Supposed to be in the mid-50's on Thursday & mid-to-upper 40's on either side of that.

About two-thirds of St. Olaf was still frozen over. You could probably harpoon on that part... :rotflmao:

Got down to the upper teens last nite so there was skim ice this a.m. over the previously open area on St. Olaf. That won't last long if the weather does what's forecast. 36 for a high on its way to the upper 40's with S-SW winds gusting to 30 mph. High of 56 w/5 - 15 mph S wind tomorrow & 49 w/10 - 15 mph S wind Friday. Lows of 29 tonite, 34 tomorrow nite and 27 Friday nite. Could open the entire lake up temporarily.

Yesterday afternoon evening was like Ireland here.  Was kind of nice.  I sat on the deck waiting for the wife to get home. Light mist and very calm.  Snowing pretty big flakes on and off here now.  Still windy as all get out.

Only 2 days much under 40 in the next 2 weeks here, according to TWC's site. Mid to upper 40's by next weekend.

Cold and snow are good. Wind is bad. If I can get a full day with a light northerly breeze, I've got a big brush pile to burn.
I used to be cute and adorable. Then, I had my first birthday. Been downhill ever since.

Temp hovering around 30. Had enough graupel to make the driveway white this forenoon & got the roads wet. Bands of snow moving thru after lunch, making the grass white in places. Looks like it's supposed to dissipate as the afternoon wears on according to futurecast radar. We shall see... :coffee:

The roads are glare ice out there.  Just drove down 371 to 10 from Brainerd to Sartell and there were two trucks with ice houses jackknifed in the ditches.  One before Little falls and one down by Rice.  Had another pickup out of Royalton all over the road zigzagging from one side to another but pulled it out!    So careful if your coming or going even in the morning, winds blowing pretty good as well.  Good luck.   :undecided:
