Well, it finally happened…we purchased a cabin! Just closed on our cabin near Webster. 3 acres with 200’ and total privacy on a peninsula.  Smaller lake but in the heart of ATV/snowmobile trails, golf, and public land just down the street (gonna need to start scouting soon as archery opens in a few weeks).

The wife already wants to tear it down and build “her” cabin but that’s gonna need to wait 4-5 years.  :tut:

Lulu is loving it. Spends all day in the water.

Smokers smoking some ribs and now have to drink WI beer.

Congratulations, I'm happy for you. It must feel great to have a place like that. Remember to relax and enjoy for a while before tackling the jobs. lol.

Lmao. Within 5 minutes of opening the front door, the kitchen was gone, two bedrooms added, deck grow over 400 sq/ft,   A second puppy was born, and the vacant lot to the south had our name on it.

Are the truck drivers hiring? May need a second job.  :rotflmao:

Yeah, not wanting to derail a happy thread, we are getting sick of the political BS here…I’m sure WI ain’t much better but SD doesn’t have a lot of lakes.  :pouty:

But seriously, we love the climate over here…just fun vibes.

Huge factor was Deer hunting as it’s one of my biggest passions and it’s 10 fold better. At least in WI, they allowed managed wolf hunts.

Did I mention they have cheese curds and fireworks???

Pulleye......when you were looking did you check out the lake as far as what type of fish are in it??????

It’s a typical panfish/pike lake with descent bass. Being a walleye guy (summer only) it was hard. That said, it hit every other checkbox we had for a place.

I’ve also slowly transitioned to more of a hard water guy over the years than open water.  I love panfishing and pulling pike up off tip ups.

The lake hits 18’. Very similar to my parents place in Aitkin. I’m sure partial winter kills will happen.

It’s funny, being a small lake, almost every boat I’ve seen has a larger motor than mine…and I have a 90hp (gotta love salesman) Saw some kids being whipped on some tubes yesterday. Today will be a good test on how busy the lake gets being it’s hot and a holiday weekend.

Had a buddy who lived on Ripple. Haven't seen or talked to him in years, I'm not even sure he lives on the lake anymore.

Since they quit making lakeshore a guy is almost guaranteed to turn a profit if and when they decide to sell. Enjoy the new property.
