Hello Everyone. New member here so I thought I’d introduce myself a little. My real name is John. I’m 59 years old. I’m an avid outdoorsman. I fish everything, but probably spend the most time chasing Bass. At one point in my life I use to hunt most everything. These days my hunting is down to just mostly muzzleloader deer hunting. At one time I was a real big waterfowl hunter but just don’t seem to have the time to do much of that anymore. I take several trips to Canada each year. Usually one in early may to Reed lake in Manitoba and another each early Sept. to Tobin lake in Saskatchewan. The spring trip is mostly a mixed bag trip. We primarily chase BIG pike but also spend time catching Walleyes and Shallow lake trout if we get there while the water temps are still low enough. The fall trip is just a BIG pike trip, although the lake is know for monster walleyes. As for employment I am a Farmers Insurance agent. If anyone is looking for insurance, or just has an insurance question, feel free to contact by email at jcline1@farmersagent.com. I currently live in Sartell Minnesota. I am Married and have 1 Daughter. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you on here.

Thanks for the welcome Mike. I do stop at Manea’s meats from time to time. I have not stopped in since they expanded it. May have to stop on my way home today. I drive right past it on my way home

Yes it is known for its monster walleyes. I think it broke the provincial record 2 or 3 times. I think the last time was mid 2000s by a pastor up there.

How trustworthy is this pastor??   :rotflmao: :rotflmao:  He's got a little extra luck on his side too.

I believe Tobin lake holds the ice fishing world record for walleye. I think it was close to 19lbs. We catch a few each fall while fishing large pike baits. I think the largest we have caught was near 30”. I know I’ve caught a few around 28. These are BIG FAT fish we are talking about up there in the fall.
