FishThumper got me thinking with his thoughts on water temp going into the fall in the weather thread. Been awhile since I wet a line late in the fall with bird chasing going on, but depending on the frogs I'm thinking on throwing the waders on and casting the shoreline with of course a rubber frog. Never know I guess..

Attaboy. Just make sure them waders are insulated. Good luck.
I used to be cute and adorable. Then, I had my first birthday. Been downhill ever since.

If my truck is fixed by Friday I was planning to go out saturday or sunday for some bass for the last soft water trip of the season.
Thinking, the water is probabvly cooler so that maybe slow fishing the structure off shore with Texas/Carolina or hopping tubes perhaps ( in addition to trying some topwater or 1-3' diving crankbaits.)
Thoughts?
Local lakes that are typically shallower (1-12 feet or so)

I’ve mostly been targeting walleyes the last few weeks, but have been getting a fair # of bass in the process. With the temps dropping fast starting on Friday I’d also fish a slow worked jerk bait. My favorite this time of the year is a rapala husky jerk. May need long pauses between jerks. Fish around any remaining green weeds or any shallow rock. Stay warm and be safe out there

Excellent - they  just called about the truck.  Was working the street corner trying to earn a few bucks to help me pay the bill?! Timing chain.......
But hey, on the bright side looks like I can get out on sunday morning!

Right! And hopefully he didn't shave his legs lately , gonna need a wind block... :bonk: After the mornings hunt I'll amble down to the water to see what's going on, might be breezy on the south side with a north wind but that might help also..oh and Glenn,  sheepies are a bonus!!  :happy1: ;)
