SCAM "PLEASE READ"

I just had a lady contact me from the state of Texas to give me a heads up the someone on Puppyfind.com was trying to impersonate our kennel. I will post the actual ad but he has 21 listing of 21 different breeds of pups for sale.

As you see his location is Billings MT and the phone number is exactly like our except the last 4 digits. This lady actually sent him an e-mail and his response e-mail came back ballbluffkennels@yahoo.com(this is not my e-mail address) and said he was from Nigeria. This lady figured it was a scam and actually looked up Ball Bluff Kennels and saw we were an actual legitimate kennel and called me right away. I and Chuck thanked her and started to investigate. I posted a warning on my website about it and now going to spread it around to multiple websites. If anyone feels like it can e-mail  him and tell him what a jerk he is. Thanks

There was a story about this same kind of scam on the news recently. The people got 2 puppies and I think they both died. The guy was selling them using another kennels name on the internet.

God thing you caught this when you did. What do you do now?

I have contacted puppyfind.com and told them to please remove all of his ads. I also put this warning on my website

 I called him all the names I wished I could sometimes call someone from American without legal battles...

 What a Looser!!! Scamming people for $300.00 bucks a crack for shipping a "Free" puppy that will NEVER! arrive.

 They sent me a e-mail back and said appropriate action had been taken against his/her account

that's nice.  you should have acted all innocent and played along like you wanted to buy a puppy and then get his arse arrested.

 He had 21 Ad's for different breeds of pups on one site alone.

 The one e-mail that a good hearted person sent us, giving us the heads up... said, This person who's add it was, said he was in Nigeria Africa settling his fathers estate after his death. He had the pup with him and was just looking for a good home for the pup and would give them the pup for free. All he needed was $300.00 for shipping. He was asking them to send the money to him He was using a phone number that had our area code, same three digit exchange, only the last four digits were different. The number came back to a non-working number. He was also going by Chuck. 

 Yahoo has taken action on his account..thats a start

 We have notified www.puppyfind.com about this person's ad's

 We also have put a notice up on our web-site about the SCAM

Here's what happen to him


  Chuck, I had the same sort of thing happen in our last breeding with our chocolate female. We got a phone call with an operator acting as the translator because the person was using one of those teletype machines under that they were deaf. The operator took my email so the person could email me. The person sent me several emails saying that he was in Great Britain and wanted to buy one of our pups and have IT shipped over. Same thing, "send me $300 for the transfer fees, which you will be reimbursed for, etc..."

I contacted the local police who told me to call the local FBI who told me to call the local Department of Homeland Security b/c that department handles these types of scams.

The Homeland Security guy told me that the emails were originating from Nigeria and that they get litterally thousands of these scam reports per day. I asked him if he wanted to try to catch this person or bust them somehow since I still had the SOB thinking that I was considering his offer. The Homeland Security guy said they could probably go after them, but were too busy to go after him and that I should consider myself lucky that I didn't fall for the scam. Fine by me, but if they never go after these people, then these scam's will only increase.

I emailed the scammer back and told him I could only let him buy a pup if he sent someone to pick it up. Plan being to call the cops and have them there when the person arrived. Smart scammer never replied back.

One other tidbit. The Homeland Security guy told me these people have buildings in Nigeria where hundreds of people do nothing but send emails 24/7 (like a sweatshop) trying to scam money off of innocent people. That's probably why most of these scam emails are very poorly written. And, the Nigerian government does nothing about it.

If it sounds too good to be true,... it is.

and welcome to my life.  one of these low life's got a hold of my business account and emptied it out. ..  took my bank three days to replace all the money. the police told me that  this kind of thing happens all the time .  my banker told me that most banks write it off. so to me it sounds like the perfect scam.  i just don't get it.  thank god you caught on right away. you never know what could have happened.

Just an FYI for everyone. A old coworker of mine that is friends with a local cop told me of the new scam out there that is being used. Crooks will take a picture, with there camera phone,  of your credit card when you are paying a bill at a bar or restaurant. Usually when you throw it on the bar or table and aren't paying attention or when you hand it to the waitress and she has to have the bartender run it so she throws it on the bar and helps someone else. Then they use it on the internet or the self checkout lanes at stores. According to the cop this is the biggest thing they are fighting right now.
