Epic 1st check

Had an epic first check. We set 7 330's on bank dens and 2 in very shallow channels between a couple of banks dens Saturday. Couldn't get close to the 2 lodges due to thin ice. We checked on Monday. We had 5 beaver.

71 pound female

68 pound female

64 pound male

49 pound male

48 pound female

Grand total is 300 pounds!!!!!

He's getting faster skinning.  He says the smaller beaver are a lot easier to skin. No holes.

It took 2 trips to the truck. Only 3 would fit in the sled

Wow, that's a great haul for sure. I still don't know why we didn't get any on the beaver sets on my land last fall. I will keep an eye out for beaver activity.

I have a buddy who has a excavator coming out to his house today to tear apart a Big Beaver Dam on the creek that runs thru his property. Several people are going to sit there as the Beaver come to investigate and pluck them off as they do. He's fought a battle with getting rid of them for a few years now. Hopefully this will get the job done this time

chances of setting them all are slim..........and once they get shot at a couple times.....they turn nocturnal real quick...........dont ask how i know!!!!!
