Found this and another one in our woods.  Dyrads Saddle.  Very edible if you eat the tender parts.  Slice thin and sautee with butter and garlic.  The wife said no way will she eat them.  LOL

My asparagus patch is infested with asparagus beatlesI am going to dust it with Sevin. I'd rather not but I feel I have no choice. I will either wash the next cutting off extra good or just dispose of one cutting. I never really had this problem. I wonder if the mild winter we had will lead to more insect issues.

I picked 10 spears yesterday and there are 4 big ones that were not long enough but had nice girth that I hope to get today.  That is a big haul for us.   :sleazy:

LOL  We got our big garden purchase today.  We got cukes and 4 early girl tomatoes, and a passel of redwing onions.  I will plant the smaller ones as Ken said to do.  The wife and gson will plant them whilst I take a nap.   :sleazy:

I caught boar's post looking at his pics & scrolling on the cell phone mistook it for your post directly above it. My bad. You do recognize those seedlings, right? In this area, there was a lot of industrial hemp produced to make rope for the war effort in WWII. There was a processing plant on the outskirts of Bugtussle. The plantings were disbanded after the war was over. The seed kept it going. There are still to this day a lot of fence lines & waste areas locally it inhabits. To the naked eye, it looks the same as those plants used for recreational purposes. The THC content in those industrial hemp leftovers is only a tiny fraction of that contained in the marijuana sold today.

Ok now this is no jive. When I started my tomatoes one of them looked similar to a little elm tree. I just let it grow. It has its own little pot but just hasn't grown much. Could it be a rope plant. I'm going to take a picture of it and post it.
