Crying for justice

I live close to Fargo......follow NDSU who play in the Missouri Valley in football and the Summit in Basketball. South Dakota State won it this year and played in the 64 Tournament. All 5 of their starters are gone. NDSU is losing 3 of their starters to the portal so far.Maybe more to come. Division 2's best kids want to move up.

Of the All conference first and second teams.....8 of 10 are gone. These mid level teams are nothing more than minor leagues for the Power 5. Soon there will be no reason for P5 coaches to recruit high school kids. Just recruit transfer kids.

The Un of Mn has nothing to cry about. Just recruit out of the portal. Take the best kids from lower level schools. Why would kids from a Power 5 want to move except for more money.

Don't the Gophers offer enough money to keep kids???? The only other reason I can think of is if they are sitting on the bench and not playing.

Crying for justice? How about honoring your commitment?

Ola Josef played defense sporadically & was why he was in Ben's doghouse. Carrington, playing time. Payne was all about the $$$$. Be interesting to see where he winds up. Kentucky is one rumor. Ihnen was just taking up a scholarship. What everyone is hoping is that they're saving the NIL money for Garcia, Hawkins, Christie & Mitchell. Morgan from NDSU has talked to the U. He's from Waseca & didn't like the NDSU coach. However, without the remaining core, why in tarnation would he wanna come here? Reload every year? Be a lot of venues around the country, not just the U, sitting empty if that's constantly the case. If these programs are just destined to become another farm system for the NBA, count me out.

For all the guys not bound 4 the NBA or even the D league, NIL wull be their biggest B-ball payday.  They gotta figure out how to maximize that.

"Crying for justice? How about honoring your commitment?"

How about starting with coaches honoring their signing contracts and then wanting out as soon as they start winning???

How about the big schools STOP paying a player on a smaller school so much they can't really turn it down??

But then these big schools are all about TV money. And their players got none of it. Until now.

"The Power Five conferences combined for more than $3.3 billion in revenue during their 2022 fiscal years, their new federal tax records show"

And now with the Pac12 no longer existing.....there are 4 to divide up all that money. It won't be long and the ACC will be in trouble with Florida State and Clemson the 2 strongest football teams leaving.

It will come down to the Big 10 and SEC.
