Have you ever realized you've been singing the wrong lyrics to a song? I've done it quite a few times, actually.
My most recent is "Edge of Seventeen" by Fleetwood Mac. I thought Stevie Nicks was singing about a "one winged dove". I kept picturing a dove flying around in circles.
I've also learned that Kenny Rogers was telling Lucille that they had four hungry children. No idea why I thought they had four hundred children.

I got a GED. I couldnt speel deploma.

Tom Petty played on Stevie Nicks' "Stop Dragging my Heart around."  Later Weird Al Yankovic did a parody:  "Stop Dragging my Car Around."  Watch the video and you can't unhear Weird Al's inspiration.

Weird Al has lots of good ones. I'm particularly fond of Amish Paradise.
Kind of like old Cletus T. Judd. A country Weird Al. First Redneck on the Internet.

Revved up like a douche?  NO!

Springsteen's original lyric was "cut loose like a deuce, another runner in the night."  Referring to a '32 Ford coupe; think Beach Boy's Little Deuce Coup.

The whole song is about getting hopped up on hard drugs, something Springsteen never did.
