That's great pulleye,  I'm not an electrician so I'm allowed one question.  Does the switch control the outlet?

Nope. Power goes into the junction box and splits to the outlet and also to the light.

Need to fasten the wires down.

 My buddy says not to use metal junction boxes so maybe I’ll see what a plastic one costs.
