Mountain Lion Cubs Spotted in Michigan for First Time in Over 100 Years

A Michigan man made history on March 6 when he glimpsed a pair of young, wild cats darting around on a snowy road in the state's Upper Peninsula. After one of the pair dashed under his halted vehicle, he and other drivers took a few photos and guessed at the breed. They decided the pair were likely bobcat kittens and didn’t think much more of it.

The kittens turned out to be young, endangered cougar cubs, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) confirmed on March 12—and this was the first confirmed sighting of cougar cubs in the Wolverine State in over a century.

Too bad he didn't "accidentally" back-up over that one under the tire.

while the babies may be cute, it's one animal I will shoot if I ever see it in the woods. sorry not sorry

Agreed. If I remember correctly, the way the laws are written regarding cougars, you're not even supposed to be able to protect your livestock or pets from them if they are attacked. B as in B, S as in S. Put me in jail or fine me then. I refuse to sit idly by and watch that crap go down without a fight.

Those guys were lucky momma hasn't been spotted, I agree pretty tough to let a pet or anything get dragged off without pulling the trigger.

So the way I read the DNR thing that Dotch attached. Is I can injured it and then the cop can kill it.  ;) I would also not let it kill any of my pets or livestock. They can kiss my  :mooning:.

Never mind.  I fell for this...

Voyageurs Wolf Project:  Cougar Kittens in MN

We found something we weren’t supposed to as we approached a fresh wolf kill last year. And we have really been struggling with what to do because when we shared what we found with those in charge, we were told to keep our mouth shut.
But, after several months of deliberations we decided we needed to make this information public, especially in light of what was recently discovered in Michigan. We feel, more-so now than ever, that there needs to be transparency.
So here it is...

But when I looked closer...  I saw this!   :doah: :pouty: :mooning:
