My smoker is dead and miss it  am thinking of building a new one..
I have some plans but being I want a elc. one not sure how I am going the element,,,,of bigger is where,,,,needs to have a heat seating dial as well,,,,,,,,any one have any ideas?

 DaveO, find yourself a electric hot plate with a temp setting.

 You just plug it in and use a old heavy kettle, pick out your choice of smoking wood, put it in the kettle, set it on the hot plate and smoke away

 My dad has used this method for years

 he sets his hot plate on a flat patio block..keeps away from anything that is a fire danger
