IN fisherman?

Is it me or does it seem like their magazine and tv show is starting to get boring?

I would like to think I am a multiple species angler, but for the majority of us, do we really need to learn how to live bait rig for peacock bass in the Amazon??

When was the last time they did a show on ice fishing? Does anybody really care about the bluegill populations in Maryland?
 I guess I'm one track minded but I like to learn about whats going on in areas I can reach. I can think of better things to do than drive to oklahoma to chase 3 pound white bass.

Anyone else agree with me or disagree?

I agree, i think they could at least keep it in the States with the fish they go after.

When is the last time you went fishing for sharks or any kind of bill fish? I stopped watching that show years ago.

You have to understand though that In-Fisherman yes it is located in Minnesota but there just not for the Minnesota Audience they have to project to the entire United States as well as further. They do have a lot of local stuff Expecially the PWT's. But theres a lot of shows that are just in Minnesota with angelrs that fish Minnesota, Minnesota Bound is one. It would be hard forIn-Fisherman toto keep everyone happy if they just stay in Minnesota, but I will say still a quite a bit of their shows are shot in Minnesota.

It's easy to understand what and why they do what they do, it's just that the shows I watch must be of some interest to me. Peacock bass lasted about 2.5 minutes on the screan before it got change to a different chanel. How many people are going to plan a trip to Mexico to do that kind of fishing now that the show was aired? About a dozen?

And not to mention that it was a totally paid vacation. Paid for by the subscribers and sponsors. I would love to have that gravy job.

Yeah I don't watch those shows or even read magazines like that.  I stick to Outdoor News and MN Bound.

How do you get a Peacock bass?  Does the peacock use a snorkle?

 ??? liveing in the brainerd lakes area i have had the fortune of watching their shows and have observed their filming ! the infisherman tv show was a boom to the local economy when it was a new show. but after it had been established the table turned to a wider vareity of fishing segments from places far from the average fishermans pocket book . although the show was based on the concept of teaching the novice angler to become a better fisherman ?the show had changed to a we are here and you are not !  as i asumed this to be the new shows standard ? i refused to watch in fisherman anymore for these types of attitudes towards it,s founding viewers seemed to be a slam to the minnesota and midwest outdoorsman !! ::)

Minnesota bound?  i enjoy that show too but i have also seen Ron Shara fishing peacock bass in the amazon on Minnesota bound as well as fishing and hunting in other parts of the country

this is why i watch midwest outdoors.atleast for the most part they stay in the midwest.  lol

One thing to do is call them up and talk to them and give them you opinion. Everyone there is very nice people and would pobably really take into consideration for what you have to say. You can go to the website and call the number and probably talk to the Director yourself if you wanted to.

Anglers Edge has to be my favorite out there. I don't watch much tv but if I am fortunate enough to catch it I am usually satisfied :)

I gotta tell you I love watching them fish for peacock bass in the Amazon. More practically I also think there is an opportunity to look at how people fish in another region (and culture) fish and to consider if there might be an application to be made to our fishing. I'm far more amazed that they show as much local stuff as they do.

I have been fascinated by the Amazon all my life. (There was an episode of Sea Hunt that I still remember where Mike Nelson had to dive in the Amazon and of course got attacked by an anaconda - my favorite snake by the way.) They have electric eels that can kill a grown man. Giant otters. Pirahana. That's like stuff from 50's Scifi movies. And double bonus Peacock Bass!! Those things are incredible. Beautiful.

I'll probably never get there but I love seeing it.

At first I was not a fan of In Fisherman going all over the world either.  But then I thought about it-when am I going to ever get to fish in another country?  Probably never, but this gives me an idea of what it's like, what they have to offer for species of fish, and how they fish them.  Another thought is-how many times can they show how to catch walleyes in Minnesota?  There's only so many varieties of lakes to fish from, whether it be Glacial made, Prairie bowl type or rivers.  And they've probably beat that one to death over the years with all the shows they've made.

Sure I wished Al & Ron were still running it, but they sold it for a reason.  And now that they are on again with Anglers Edge-that's just another possible show to watch!  Then there's Babe Winkelman's show, and a host of others to watch.  More and more all the shows are diversifying and fishing the Amazon, Sailfishing in Mexico, Grayling in Alaska and so on.  Even Ron Shura's MN Bound isn't always in Minnesota! 

I'm just happy to have the shows and can only hope they don't fold up and stop making them.  It's great entertainment and can be educational as well.  I know my son and I both enjoy watching fishing shows-that's priceless father & son bonding time.  We watch the shows, and then when we are lucky enough to get out fishing, we often try to duplicate some ideas/tips we see on them.  Again more priceless father & son bonding time!

I loved the show and subscribed to the magazine in the early eighties.  But there is only so much you can say about a particular type of fishing like say crappies in minnesota. It gets repetitive and old fast repeating to the same audience.These shows need to diversify to constantly come up with new material.
    They did a wonderful job introducing  structure,pre spawn, spawn, and post spawn etc locations. (I wonder how post season fish taste)
Once most people find a system that works for them They are set.
 And it is time to move on to something else.
  I still and always will enjoy watching outdoor shows. 
 In fisherman is stuck in the proverbial rock and a hard place
