:-\  with the seasons end in site for winter ice fishing! could we have a better spring bite then what we had all winter ? the ice is still sound here in the brainerd lakes area and about 32 inches in most of the major fishing spots . the woodchuck ventured out this early noon till 3:00 pm. tried 5 different area lakes ? but with a wind out of the east it was hard to spot any fish on the scope!  what did show were small pannies on the move for shelter or to keep up with the bait fish ? useing smaller jigs/waxies and crappie minnows only managed to catch 1 lone b.gill on sylvan lake in 15 fow 10 ft. down on a green ant . tomorrows forcast is to be warmer 49 and sunny with a wind out of the wsw witch should bring the fish bite back to a feeding frenzy to begin the spring feed . GOOD LUCK,
AND VENTURE SAFE !  woodchuck ;D ;)

Good report Woodchuck!  Even though it was slow-it still had to be nice to get out!  I wished I had more time to do more fishing, but with spring coming I've got tons to do.   :(  With the warmer weather coming-do us all a favor and just be careful out there!  Bring your spikes!  ;)
