Pee Test....Made sense to me

I got this in an email. I like it thought I would pass it on.

Pee Test

         Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, 
they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes
as  they see fit.  In order to get that paycheck.. I am required to
pass a random urine test, which I have no problem with.

         What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my 
taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one
have  to pass a urine test to get a welfare check, because I have to
pass one  to earn it for them?

         Please understand, I have no problem with helping people 
get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with
helping someone sit on their a$$ . Could you imagine how much money
the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a
public assistance check?

I understand your point, but considering the reasoning behind the urine analisys, saftey on the job, it would make very little sense to test people who were not on the job.
this is not a morality issue. it is a safety issue.

I'm betting it would be around fifty percent though.......

as far as I am concerned, it is in some cases.
that still however has little to do with taking a piss test.

Well I have to go through a random test deal also. My name hasn't been drawn yet but doesn't matter to me if it does.

The people pushing for the tests are the insurance companies of the employers. It really hasn't got a thing to do with the state.

On a side note it does tick me off to see someone on welfare buying drugs with the check instead of feeding and clothing their kids properly. But it isn't any different than if they sit at the bar and drink the check away.

The welfare is abused terribley awful. There is a time and a place for it. A drug test for it wouldn't fix the faults of the system itself.

Figured i'd give my 2 cents.

P.S. There is nothing random about a random drug test.

I have served my country, Paid my taxes, paid my child support, paid for their kids too, bought homes for them better than mine. Heck I think I ( we ) should at least have the right to their piss. But then again some of them not all of them have been pissing on the working man for years. We should start sending it to a lab.

I love the idea of making the welfarse recipients do at least that to get their checks.  Don't get me wrong, not EVERYONE is bucking the system, but I'm sure many of them are. 

The only problem I see with this is the ACLU, Jesse & Al would be the first to call this unconstitutional or morally wrong...blah blah blah.  But it is a nice thought that they'd actually have to pass the test to get their checks!  ::rockon::

IF we have to take a piss test to get welfare should we have to get one to drive on the roads. How about having to take a piss test to have the right to a lawyer appointed by the state. Or how about a piss test to live in jail? I understand the point, and it could be an incentive to not do drugs, but where do and can you draw a line? I have no idea, mabey you do... I would like to hear it! ... How about a piss test to use a public landing ::!!

They will ALLWAYS find the money for drugs and if we dont just give it to them for free they will TAKE it one way or another anyhow.

The fact still remains how ever if you make them take a pee test or find any other way to not give them free money,,,,or realy free drugs the crime will still go up :donatello:

I thought it was funny... If you want to you can let them out! I would not though...  My point is what costs more the jail stay, or the welfare? I would have to say the jail (est 30,00/year/inmate). I realy don't know though.

They should really do something because as most of you either know or don't know, the welfare system is seriously being abused in the inner cities today which prevents and/or delays the people who really need the assistance to get the help they need. I say turn them loose and hire more cops and harden the justice system. In the great State of Minnesota this will never happen..... ::)

Abused is an understatement. Like some families who are on welfare for 2-3 generations, going on four. It's purpose is for emergency assistance not a life style.
