Quick! Get Your Grass Seed Down!

In a panic I ran to the store today and bought some seed. I just spent the last hour spreading it in a panic! Well not really in a panic but I think with this rain coming this afternon it is a perfect time to get some seed going. Last fall they put in a new septic and most of the yard is now dirt. They were kind enough to put seed on the septic hill but the rest of the yard is now dirt. Lets see if this rain can get some green going!

Working in the yard and planting is one of my favorite things to do. Wish I had a scanner. You should see my gardens from High School.

did you add any starter fertlizer when you put your grass seed down
and make sure you did't plant it to deep ?

Starter fertilizer? I would never waste the money. If done properly you should have a nice green lawn in 3 weeks. My grass came in wonderfully! The only problem was that I did it in a rush because I wanted to get it down for the rain that was coming that day. I think it was supposed to rain for like 12 hours. Anyways, I missed a couple patches, so I have nice green grass except for 4 ares the size of a softball. That is my next job

On a side note you all should see this yard. It is a landscapers dream yard. Nothing has been done to it really and the potential is out of this world. I'm hoping that I will be able to buy the house within a year and get started. I have so many ideas!

Yes  Starter fertilizer you would have had a green lawn in less the 3 weeks .
more like 1 1/2 weeks.. and it helps build your soil up too..

I will look into that. I have a section that needs seed and will be a challenge. Maybe the starter fetilizer is just what I need......
