So I have fed the deer off and on since I moved into this place but since I have gotten my new feeder I have been able to have corn out there always! Which is nice.

First the deer came....and then the Turkeys showed up. The Deer and Turkey run very strict schedules so if it is quiet I can pretty much nail it within an hour when they'll be here...

Now today I had a new visitor!!! For the last few weeks I have heard a rooster cackling down in the field and in the woods as well. I have made a few walks down there with the dog and she has failed to find one! Got a bit birdy but never pinned one down. Well tonight around dinner time I was doing something in the kitchen when to my surprise out of the corner of my eye I saw the infamous white neck bobbing up and down. A rooster!!! At the feeder! Pretty cool.

Like an idiot I got excited and told Luci! ::) Well everyone got their shoes on...it had to be a family event ;D and we went into the field with our mind on birds. Luci was great! She locked onto that scent trail right away and off we went. She got to some thick brush and locked up and then relocated and then locked again and then relocated again except this time it was off to the races! It wasn't long and the bird was airborne! Next time I will control myself and we will let the rooster get his. Hopefully next time he will bring some backup and then make it an evening ritual eventually!

What a night! ;)

I too had a new visitor to my feeder this weekend. MR. Black Bear, He was kinda early this year and I didn't have my feeder secured with pickets yet. Not a big deal he cant break anything but, I think he just sits in the swamp laughing at me when I have to get my boots wet retrieving the barrel from the swamp. We will see who is laughing this fall. :ROTFLMAO:
Are you a hunter or do you just kill things? Respect the wildlife!

He takes the barrel all the way from the back yard to the swamp!?
