We started out about 7:15 a.m. in Muskeg Bay (Meadows).  Two of us were fishing and we caught two keepers, one was 15 " and the other 17 1/2".  We also caught one about 23" that went back in the drink.  After that things slowed and we moved to big hardwood and fished there for about 1/2 hr.  We didn't catch any fish but did see a few caught.  Next move was to Goose for one pass (no luck).  Our last move before we went in was Star Point and we managed to catch one more keeper and release several small walleyes that were about 12".  I did see people keeping fish that size which is kind of disgusting.  On Sunday we headed back to Star and we caught 6 more nice fish with a couple pushing that 18" mark.  We also lost several fish.  I had two coming back to the boat that had nice weight but they let go of the minnow.  We had trouble finding small shiners and I think our minnows were simply too big.  I hate using stinger hooks as they pick up more grass but that maybe is what we should have done.  I had Channel 12 on but didn't hear any IBOTS or anyone else.  I called for Spinach and LLAngler several times but if you are were on Stony that explains things.  I can't go up this weekend but hopefully will on Memorial day weekend.
I fish not because I regard fishing as being so terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant - and not nearly as much fun.? Robert Traver "Anatomy of a Fisherman"

Thanks for the report Shaky. We tried to call for you several times also, channel 12 was abiously not the best channel for this large lake.

We had the same problem as you, our shiners were to big, we would of done much better if we would of had fatheads or small shiners, our biggest eye actually came on a crawler..... Still a fun weekend.

Leech and I will be up on Memorial weekend with our families too.

Lets use channel 5.0 next time, we should have better range on the lake.
