I'd be in again. Not sure where though, Westwinds was always a great place if they would have us again.

I'm out if this is on the last weekend of July though.

Are you talking about planning another one?

well we pinned a date down--July (27-28-29) for the FEST

my mother has her shed open that date, the reunions, the weddings, the graduations partys, are usually done and its slow fishing time-

we wont be able to put campers out in the field this year because they planted corn there this year; - but theres always plan "B"

WE HAVE 64 ACRES- about a football field away from the shed we used last year for parking to the north of it, plenty of spots, we have or own driveway to the cabin, we just got a well drilled and HOPEFULLY, electric to it in the next couple weeks- its still going to be the portable out house or your favorite tree or bush in the woods for relief- nothing fancy

we can drive along the edge of the corn field to the shed or come in mothers driveway for the shed

this year dogs are allowed if they are not around the food or kids- theres plenty of shade trees near our cabin- they must be leashed- "PERIOD"
Again the freezer will be there, electric-- bring your card tables and chairs, we cant get those we had last year-they sold there business out;;- there will be a couple grills there, propane, charcoal etc, bring your own meats, treats, pop, beer- eat and drink when ever you want-- theres no set time for everyone to eat at a certain time

there will be room by our cabin to shoot clays- we have 1 double thrower

if we get a few people to bring BB guns along like last year and adults that will supervise them when there shooting, its a-go again, we will have the targets set up--it was a blast last year- atvs are welcomed but this year maybe adults should make sure young ones under the legal age are suppervised and helmets

we encourage family"s and kids to come

you need not be an IBOT to attend-- its for all ages and open to anyone from different sites and it is a blast

if you havent got a place to stay we have a hida bed and 2 fold out cots plus a tent in the garage

maybe Ibots will bring there canopies to share for shade at the cabin

we need to know how many are interested then Gamble will put a sign up list so we will get a more accurate count

the horshose trophy can only be won by other IBOTS

its a start- so lets hear some opinions and suggestions

I guess I just assumed it was the same thing. ???

I can see your point, but what if we all vote for a weekend when Russ and Judy can't be there? ???

There were posts on MNO and the IBOT site looking for suggestions and ideas for when and where, but nobody stepped up. I think it's great that Russ & Judy have agreed to host an IBOT fest again this year.  ::cheers::

Sorry we cant post certain things under just IBOTS To advertise under other sites so it was discussed we liked the turn out last year, everyone came that could and it was great-- there was a answer on the IBOT Site asking where--east, west, north or south-- "no one said anything or asked for a different place" or chimed in for dates --!!! so it was chosen- we offered the place again, no one else did? we dont want to see a Feast LIKE THAT LOOSE"S ITS CHARM- IT HAS A VALUE YOU CAN EXPLAIN!!!- ::welcome::

This is for families, kids, fisher men and women that can out Bs us, tell real stories around the camp fire better than some of us,

this is a spot where you can, hang out, eat when you want, camp where you want, theres 64 acrers to find your spot, the clock stops when you decide to sleep or get up (no such thing as a schedule here)-- this is your weekend, day or just a drop in visit- to just say HI!!

DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY BUT YOUR ALL WELCOME WHETHER WE CALL IT IBOTS OR RUSS&JUDY FEST TO MAKE IT HAPPEN

Where hoping this clears things up??
were doing what we can, we just need some support for the effort

Sorry you cant make it Pat- this event is directed to families, fishermen and women,  weekend as you have seen; are foucas has been to give the best reports we can give for the fishing season whether it be this site or others, but the main concern on any site is the Family First in our book- second is the report to be shared by all- its what we do best and share on any site and we give it our best, everyone needs some info -- We did when we started -- come and enjoy the weekend :taz: ::cheers::

I have finally read enough to voice my opinion! I think the IBOT is gone in what we are doing! I remember when we had the"IBOT-fest"at Red lake,it was some of the most memorable times I have had as an IBOT!There is to much B.S. involved. Who decided to make it an all web site affair, in my opinion if you can't discuss IBOT matters on that web site"They Can Kiss My Posterior!" I want nothing to do with them. I don't care! Also, Who renamed it! I think that is plain wrong! I want to gather with those I consider my IBOT brothers and sisters and watch my kids ride 4-wheelers,swim with my dogs and eat and drink with the IBOTS(maybe see some ass fireworks!) But mainly soak in the water of what brought us together! I will be up at Red as much as I can for that reason!I made every IBOT FEST until last year. I voiced my opinion about it and was insulted by a few people who I don't think know what IBOT means! I again this year will have an IBOTFEST in my own little world! You would be amazed how many IBOTS show up! We still go on a shore clean-up,close the WW,and have a great time! Long ago someone said the IBOTs will go on to the next good bite and forget about waskish! I'm out to prove them wrong! That's what I think. I'm not saying you should agree with all I say, But it's something to think about! See ya on RED!

I have stayed out of this until now, but I have had about enough!

it was a group decision to relocate last years fest.
the idea was to get more people to the IBOT fest by making it more accessable (closer) because it was getting pretty damned expensive to fill the gas tank and dissapear for the weekend.
it worked out good for alot of people.
we had a good time at Russ and Judy's place.
I thank them for offering it up.
however, there was something missing....Red Lake.
it sat in my guts as an uneasy feeling all weekend, and every day since.

to figure this all out, I had to dig back to what we are all about and how we all came to be together.
no matter where our travels take us, from Red lake to Winnibigosh, to mille lacs to moose lake, we will allways have one common thread, we have tread upon and endured the hardships of Upper Red Lake ICE.
through it all, we have also come to reap the bennefits of our ventures...the friendships we have all made along the way. the countless pictures, the great stories and fond memories are ours forever.

things have changed along the way, not all in good favor for the IBOT's.
back when we were still around 50 or so members, being an IBOT stood for something.
after that, it became sort of an egotistical race to gain members for the sole purpose of increasing numbers.
that was wrong and never should have happened.
once upon a time, we went to the temple and actively recruited new members.
we pounced on nearly every patron who entered the temple and challenged them to become an IBOT.
as the night wore on, we found membership cards laying on the floor, stepped on with disreguard.
that's how much being an IBOT meant to these new members.
the next morning we discussed this and agreed that it should never happen again.
if someonewanted to become an IBOT, they must seek us out. they must know why they wanted to become an IBOT and they would then be initiated into the group, thus becoming an IBOT.

now the moron and putz are still recruiting members in the same fashion as that night long ago.
one prospective member was even told that if he didn't become an IBOT, if he were stuck in a snowbank, he wouldn't get pulled out!!
I want no part of that.
it isn't right and it's not what IBOT's are all about.
I have stated my case and affirmed my position that there are actually very few IBOT's that actually know what being an IBOT really means.

it's not about numbers.
it is about quality members.
it's not about building a large society and robbing the name for self glorification.
it's about just being who we are and IBOT fest is about celebrating that.

I was asked by a dear friend if I was going to come back.
Floyd, I never went away, I just refuse to be a part of things the way they are.

I will regroup the Ibots and start over.
we will come together, naturally, like we did before.
there will be some old familiar faces along with some new ones, but the new ones will be there because they wanted to long before they found us.

I may be able to make Russ fest or what ever it is called, but that is a long way off.

Goose, I am with you.
I will be with you in waskish at the IBOT fest this year.
anybody care to joing us?

Woody, this would be a great opportunity to get that card you have been looking for allof these years ;)

I have to admit I was a bit puzzled by the somewhat grumpy replys to this post, but after the brief history lesson, I understand.

I will be on Moose Lake the week of 4th of July and I'm sure I could set aside a day to continue the history lesson by meeting you in Waskish.

Jiggle-maybe you and I could ride together?

I still think, no matter what it's called, the gathering at Russ and Judy's is a good thing.

your opinions are more than welcome here-with no offence taken- were nobody, were just Russ&Judy, even though it took over 3 years for us to become IBOTS, in our hearts we were always IBOTS before IBOTS  took shape- us and many others not mentioned always helped out, we missed just 1 get together and hated missing that.

Take our name off the Fest-it doesnt hurt our feelings, we were just trying to get everyone from all directions that are Ibots or want to be the info on each site, its not fair in our book to leave anyone out, our and your next life time friend is only a hand shake away, so those of you that have shaken my hand, hugged Judge Judy are lifetime friends like it or not

my mother had a great time with everyone last year and being called MOM

So if you have a suggestion as to where, when, etc please post it--someone has to get the ball rolling and it looks like we got some of your attention and comments

I am not trying to put a stop to russ and judy fest.
it was fun last year and it was convenient for many people.
I recomend it to everybody.
just remember this.
if you don't know what an IBOT is, and you are being asked to join even though you don't know why then it's not the real deal.

I am going to return to the tradition of the waskish experience though. be it a scaled down version and even if it is held at a different location if need be.
there is no reason we cant enjoy fun get togethers many times a summer. the more times we get together, the more people will be able to participate.

I am going back to the old school ways of the IBOT with my true IBOT brothers.
we know who we are.
having a get together at waskish will make us feel better inside ::cheers::

I agree the Russ and Judy Fest was a wonderful weekend and for them to offer there land was very generous, I also would recommend everyone to participate if possible.

My comments on this subject are not directed at them in any way, I was a little disturbed to find out that the IBOT Fest was being renamed to the Russ and Judy Fest, but after hearing both sides of the story on how Russ was not able to type the word IBOT on some other sites, I'm all good.  I've known both of them for 6-7 years now, in no way would i ever intentionally try to belittle them. If my comments came across to anyone in this manner, I sincerely apologize.

I'm very happy to hear that the IBOTS will regroup and get back to the good old days.

Whether its IBOT Fest or Russ-Judy Fest, I'll be there that last weekend in July.  Russ - Thanks for offering your place again for a good time shindig.  Red is a little out of reach for me as we are at the cabin most summer weekends.

I'll offer up pontoon rides or a couple hours of fishing on Round Lake (just down the road from Russ & Judys Mom's place) for anyone interested.
