we found that taking all of our labs chew toys away, And only giving them to her outside as a reward worked great, we then slowly worked one toy into the house at a time. Don't know if it will help you, but worked for us. Good Luck

First If he is chewing things up when left alone, he needs to be crated. You can use either the large wire or the pet porter. He has a separation anxiety problem. So he chews things when you are gone.

I will take care of it when I get back from oregon

Got the same problem with my Golden.  If we leave, thats fine.  But God forbid we come back and leave again real soon.  Every time we do that, she tears something up.  Here's what she did after Easter one year -- the Easter Candy Masacer:

All this candy was in a tupperware "cookie jar."  She got it open and had a party.  Cleaned up shiny poop for a week.   Another time she ate 2 dozen or so chocolate chip cookies.  Had a sore tummy from that.

Well here's our training method.  Do something naughty, ya get lemon juice squirted in the mouth.  We use those little plastic lemons.  To this day if we even show our dogs that plastic lemon, the tail goes between the legs and ZOOOOM under the bed they go.

Good luck RC.

Hi, I just have a suggestion for you.  If you dont have a kennel, I see them ALL the time on Craig's List pretty cheap...will probably save you quite a few $'s.  GG

Crate!! You can truely go through puppy stages with very few items being harmed. I have done it for all of my dogs. My dogs will go in their crate when not even told just to relax. It is their safe den.
