Firstly I'd like to thank Minnesota Outdoorsman for having me aboard, I'm anxiously looking forward to providing any knowledge that I can for all of you out there.  I have spent summer seasons involved with golf in Minnesota and Iowa and winter seasons in Naples/Fort Myers, Florida and Indian Wells, California (Palm Springs desert area).  Giving back to the game of golf is truly a passion of mine and I hope that I can help in any way.  Please feel free to ask me any golf questions that you may have for me, I will answer them to the best of my knowledge and I'm sure I will learn a lot from all of you as well!  We've had a nice taste of summer early on in April already so I expect Minnesota golf courses to be in great shape condition-wise come mid-season.  Best of luck to everyone in the 2006 golf season!   :)

Hey thanks Matt!

I'm not much of a golfer but I play occasionally. I have a good friend who is a Pro at a local course. I have invited him onto the site. He just switched courses and is very busy so his time is limited but he will be around. Glad to have you here. Ever have any questions feel free to find me. Hopefully I can help.
 ;)

Hi Matt Welcome aboard.
I have a question or two. New vs old clubs
I have a Taylor Made Driver 360 ti. reg shaft. I hit it about 230yd. once i awhile 250+ I would like to Hit 250 regularly. I'm not sure how old the 360 is I got it from a pawn shop. would a new driver help my goal is to reach the green on my second shot.  I'm 57 with a 26 and falling handi cap :D   I have a 93 mph swing speed. and hit the ball fairly straight. What club would recommend. I just bought a 3 and 5 wood ping G-2 and like them.   Thank you   Grandpa Jack

Grandpa Jack:

Firstly, what ball are you playing?  Secondly, I never had much success with this series of drivers from TaylorMade either.  I had a 300 Ti, factory stiff flex shaft and now my MOTHER plays it!  In my experiences with swing speeds around yours I've found that the Ping G2 is a great driver, many of our members in Iowa and California played this driver.  What loft is your TaylorMade 360?  Finding the right shaft, flex, and loft combination is crucial to distance success.  Post a reply and fill me in on your ball choice and loft of your driver.  Thanks!

Matt! My driver is 10.5  and have been using the topflite xl 3000. I have also just started to use the maxfly noodle. I'm am trying to find a good ball that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
also a local club maker that checked my club speed said that the ball release of the Taylor made was better then His brand of clubs. He Makes clubs here in Duluth and I had to have my repaired. I was  ready to change at that time. Grandpa Jack
