Inspired by the Spinach - raygun - tinfoil photo I just stumbled across on a different page I am proud to announce a slamtacular (r.h.)  Fawkinnae photo contest.
Here's how the contest works. I'm in need of some cool new photos to post on the Fawkinnae website.

http://www.fawkinnae.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=1

I'm asking all of you to send me your most inspired photos incorporating the word "Fawkinnae" in a unique way in an outdoors setting. Now let me give you some examples of what I'm talking about:

1. Let's say your name is Spinach and you dress up with a Fawkinnae t-shirt, tinfoil on your head, a green raygun and in an outdoor setting. Bam. You could be a winner.
2. Another example - you don't have a Fawkinnae t-shirt but not to be outsmarted by a guy named Spinach you spell out the word Fawkinnae with beer bottles and pinecones - (umlauts are optional).
3. Yet another example - your name is "Hard to Hold 'em Down Twice" - and you use all of your leftover minnows from the days delivery to spell... Fawkinnae in front of the Holiday gas station slushie machine.

Best three photos win a Fawkinnae shirt and bumpersticker prize. The best photos will be posted on the Fawkinnae website for all of eternity. You can post your photos here or send them to me at doug@fawkinnae.com.

Extra bonus part of the contest - if Ted Takasaki submits a photo to the contest too, we will have a 4th place winner. Come on Ted.

I'm not sure when the contest should end but I'm thinking a couple of weeks. I'll consult with the MNO braintrust on that.

If you have any questions let me know.
Thanks and good luck.
Doug

Fawkinnae this has me inspired!  I wanted to order a new T-shirt a couple months back, but I got the guilt trip from momma that we have a little one on the way in September and the last thing I need is another T-shirt  *&*^$ !!!!  Now I can try and win one !!!

??? How many times may I enter to win? and what if I can get Ted involved? I'll get started when I get out of bed.

Captkev good question. Sorry to hear about the guilt trip. Girls are so complex.

No limit on how many great photos you submit. As far as Ted - I don't even know what to say. I'm pretty sure my head would explode.

This just in... News Flash...
I'm going to jot down a few of these ideas and start working on this project on my next outing... I hope it works.

Oh... Ted is on his way to Bay De Noc for the FLW tournament next week. Some way some how maybe I can get a chance to talk with him when he gets back about this. I will be sure he does see this topic the next time he gets to a computer ;)

Scott - 2 fine examples. Thank you.
And heck while we're at it - we may as well consider those two photos as the first 2 entrys.

News Flash
Captkev I can see that you've got big hard-thinkin' ideas for this contest. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

And Ted - I hope he wins the FLW tournament and enters the photo contest and wins a bunch of other fishing contests. I wonder if Ted studies yoga?

Too funny about Picasso.  Everyone knows it was Joan Mirot and Judy Chicago who partnered in doing the Chapel.  LOL.

So, I went to the link at the beginning of this thread and I am very dismayed.  All those photos of sexy girlies in little shirts and flapping belt loops (let's hear it for the miracle of makeup !) - but nothing for us women?  Sorry, fat guys holding big fish or big bucks, doesn't count.  ;)

So, the retired LCDR USN who is my guy, goes to the gym 3-4 days a week and runs half marathons.  Maybe I could talk him into a photo session?  On the other hand, if the T-shirts are just for guys, cool,  but how about a link to shirts for us girls?  I have a great T-Shirt but I can't find it on the internet anymore... it was made by a company called Girls Hunt 2 and I got it about five years ago.  On the back is a huge buck, like a 30 pointer with the words "when a girl says that size doesn't matter, she IS lying".   Too funny !  And pretty close to home.. the biggest deer I ever arrowed was a little 8 pointer and my best friend Deb got that 24 point buck last year !

So, thanks in advance for some shirts for us gals.  There are those "hunt like a girl" shirts, those are nice.  There must be others somewhere?

Giddy up Catwoman.

Judy Chicago - that girl can flat out paint - (I wonder if she'll be entering the contest)?

Just to clarify - we are indeed low on photos from sportswomen. And I would love to have a bunch of them. Is the problem these are not the right kind of shirts for women? I know there are women out there sporting my hoodies but I have yet to receive a photo for the website. I hope that can change. The sooner the better.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

CaptKev - this songs for you.

Who is the man
That would risk his neck for his brother man?
(Shaft!)
Can ya dig it?

Who's the cat that won't cop out
When there's danger all about
(Shaft!)
Right on

You see this cat Shaft is a bad mother--
(Shut your mouth)
But I'm talkin' about Shaft
(Then we can dig it)

He's a complicated man
But no one understands him but his woman

OH man, I thought you guys would go to yahoo and type in Judy Chicago and I would get a lot bigger rise outta ya'll and maybe even get razzed a little.  She might be able to paint ya ya, but the Dinner Party exhibition that was at my Dad's art gallery in Seattle years ago was down right... um... naughty.  But then so was the Sistene Chapel in it's day... hence my comment.

I know there are precious few legit t-shirt designs for women.  I don't think manufacturers know quite what to  produce, frankly.  Maybe it's fear of getting beat up for saying the wrong thing on a shirt.  I know one thing. Ladies like me would like shirts or whatever that are obviously serious as far as hunting, but we are still girls and not trying to be guys.  ie:  I will wear a VS beater T with camo shorts.  It's a fine line I know.  Ya can't mess with the libbers without falling on your sword, but you want to offer a legit product for the gals like us that wear nail polish but can gut a deer in ten minutes.

I gotta say, I'm with Catwoman on this one.  Where are there some other shirts for us girls?  I've looked on line after seeing this post, and found some that were just "okay".  I like CW's shirt so far the best, I'd love to have that one!  girlguide

O.K. I think we got a little off track here (but then I guess so is the Immigrant song lyrics).
Just to review, this is a Fawkinnae photo contest. People submit photos and then the best photos get prizes.

Judy Chicago so far has not entered the contest.

This is the kind of person (or alien) who might enter the contest.

Well, the winner gets their entry on a shirt, ya?  So discussion of shirt for the female gender is on topic.   ;D
No offense to Spinach, but that photo on my shirt would get me thrown out of deer camp... BUT.... it does give me some great ideas for a photo of my own.  I already know the wording on it too.... "Minnesota Nice".  At full draw toward the camera !

Catwoman. If I'm understanding you correctly - no the winner will not their picture printed on a t-shirt.

With regard to the Spinach alien picture, if his picture was printed on a t-shirt you would get thrown out of deer camp - I think that's what your telling me?

I like your idea for the Minnesota Nice t-shirt.

If you are confused by the details of the Fawkinnae photo contest let me know and I will explain again.

Goodness sakes... you are sooooooo serious.  Do the happy dance, the gator, the chicken dance, some interpretive dance, the robot... and ya I will try for a photo at the shack this weekend... and ya, when I did a word search for Fawkinnae and got a hundred links to T-shirts, I thought, well, yu know.   Knowing now I would never grace the face of a beater shirt has burst my bubble.  Sigh.   ::violin:;

So, if I am to understand, in my naivitee of choosing not to surround myself with the more basal things in society, this word is a euphamism?  The first part of the word being a mutation of the F-enheimer and the second part of the word being the south end of a northbound horse?  Or am I thinking too much and it's really from some legitimate root language?

Well you got the first part right but not the south end of the northbound horse.  The "ae" on the end simply means "A"  Its a way of saying WOW or HOLY SMOKES but with a "twist" if you will on the front end.

Now my question for you.  Whats basal?  A spice?   ::hittingself::

Again, Im only speaking for me here so if I got it wrong, blame me.   ;D

Hey Grute, well, swiping away the cobwebs of my memory, back when I was in college, I dated a guy who used that 'saying' - however, he used it because he couldn't come up with the right words to express himself.    He said the real word tho, not a word dressed up with the German hypenation.  The "A" at the end, meant what I said.  It's been so long since I heard anyone use the term, perhaps it was a college croud thing?  The mutation of the word by the T-shirt company totally blew by me.  Duh.

Basal is like.. the lowest common denominator type thing, defined "indicating a standard low level of activity of an organism" - I used it euphamismistically of course. Your herb is 'basil', hon.
