I usually don't believe this type of email, but I did some looking around and it appears to be true. Sounds to me like we need more prisons to follow his example.

I had an instrucctor in college that loved Sheriff Joe, in fact we studied him and his corrections programs for a couple of weeks....the inmates food is generally outdated he buys it for wholesalers after the sell by date just to save a few cents hehe....the jail there is also the counties dog pound, the dogs get fed for almost twice as much a day and they are inside in air conditioned pens that are way better than the people get...all because in his mind the animals didnt do anything wrong to get where the are the inmates on the other hand!!! 

he is hardly ever opposed in elections and if anyone does run they never get over 5% of the votes...he is quite a guy if u are ever channel surfing and run across a show with him in it watch it he is a hoot!
