I would love to go kenhuntin..but we unfortunately will be gone that weekend.  We usually go to the one they have in Bloomington at the Knights of Columbus.  We were not able to attend this year, but in the past we have always had a great time there and even won some very nice prizes.  To all you other MNO members who have not been to a ducks unlimited banquet, it really is a great time, you get to meet alot of fun people, great dinner (beer!) and it's for a great cause.  So if you have never been to one and you have that night available..I highly reccomend it. gg

Thank you G.G. What you say is true. That is great that you support your local chapter. Everyone really seems to have a good time when they are there. Most of our members are in the construction trades and the last few slow months must have hurt. As it looks now we will be giving away a gun to every 2.3 people that walk through the door.Oh well I am still helping the living lakes project here in Minnesota as well as the breeding prairie pothole range.I guess it is true that only 2-4% of waterfowlers give back or try to save the wetlands for our children. The P.E.T.A. people aren't gonna do it either
And I said it. Done.

Wow Ken..that is some great odds of winning a gun!  Geez, wish I could make it to that banquet!  And regarding your comment on it being true that only 2-4% of waterfowlers give back or try to save the wetlands for out children...I do NOT want to start an argument here...at all.  This is just my personal opinion.  I don't know where you got this information..I find it REALLY hard to believe that is true, I certainly hope it's not anyway!  Whenever we go to a ducks unlimited banquet in our town, they are totally packed full!  Almost standing room only sometimes!  But besides giving at the banquet, which maybe some people can't afford it, bottom line, I think there are so many other ways that waterfowlers try and give back, how about showing our children everything they know about duck hunting and teaching them everything we know about preserving our wetlands...I think that is a HUGE way to give back and also a way to be sure that duck hunting still is still around years and years from now.  It does not always have to be a wod of cash to try and contribute, there is many other ways.  I know a lot of people that volunteer their time to help out.  That also is a GREAT thing to do.  Anyways, I just didn't want you thinking that people here at MNO were not conserned about out wetland preservations, I am sure that they are.  They just might have there own way of doing it.  Again, Im certainly not trying to start an argument Ken, I just think maybe you got the wrong impression from most of us because you didn't get a lot of response regarding the banquet.  I think what you are doing for ducks unlimited is a really great thing, and I hope I didn't offend you.  gg
