I have noticed the sparrows and finches are not visiting our deck feeder as much lately.  I looked out and there roosting on the deck railing was (quail size) Hawk.  Pretty much explains why no birds at the feeder.  I watched him awhile and anytime a feeder bird flew near he was after them.  Good sparrow catcher, for sure... They are something to watch...

Hey see if you can get some photos and post em here.  We had one in our back yard one day but it was just a fly by.  He never came back.   ::violin:;  The kids were all excited and I think they scared him away.  Or maybe it was the 3 dogs we have patrolling the back yard like sentinals.
