Looking at getting a new blaze orange deer suit this year.  Been using the same RedHead Blaze Camo coverall for 20+ years now and it isn't very warm anymore.  Want a bib-parka combo but not sure which to go with.  Want the warmest one and preferably camo pattern but Must be QUIET!.

Any recommendations?

This is one of those things you need to check several of them out. I am very happy with the Cabelas and Gander Mountain brand stuff. I use a 3 in 1 jacket and bibs. Always stayed warm. I had to buy a new jacket last year, the last one was getting to small(darned dryers(ha ha)). The new one is a Remington that I got on clearance last year during season at Walmart. My son has the same one and he loves it. They are plenty warm. I need to find warm gloves and boots.

I just picked up a new 3-1 jacket and matching bibs with camo pattern at Cabela's 3 years ago and I love them. Very warm, and quiet...the only issue i had that i didn't think about at the store is the jacket i got had velcro on the side pockets that i took off with a seam ripper. Pocket flaps are large enough that they stay down over pocket and now they dont get caught on anything when I am turning in my stand.

Well I agree with Faceman, "you gotta check a lot of em out."  Me and my oldest boy bought some jackets last season at Fleet Farm for a steal and you talk about nice big pockets...We'll see if they stand the test of time but the price was right.  Id say go to places like Fleet Farm, Sportsman's Warehouse...then go to Gander and Cabellas to see how they compare.

Another thing I look for is the reversable colors so I can bow hunt with it after firearms when its butt cold freezin outside.  If thats something you like then think about the versatility.

I was the person who got Dr. Larry Marchinton (deer researcher) and Dr. Jay Neitz (vision scientist) to do the deer vision study. Before the study it was thought deer saw only in black and white, as a reulst of the study we now know they see primarily in blue and yellow, becasue they are red-green color blind.

An interesting fiding was that they see ultra-violet light, and most blaze orange die is made with ultra-violet brighteners. In other words deer see the color blaze orage as a bright white light. NOT what I want!!!

Knowing that - I use Atsko/Sno Seals UV Killer spray (which has been shown to eliminate the UV brighters in blaze orange) I wear the least amount of blaze orange as I feel comfortable with.

So - wear only a blaze orange camouflage vest and hat.

No need to buy a whole new jacket of blaze, buy one that is camo and can be used for turkey, bear, waterfowl, elk etc, and wear a blaze/camo vest over it.

I'll bet you have better things to buy than a whole new outfit of blaze orange.

May Yahweh-God bless you and yours,

Here's one I heard from a hunting buddy.  He said what you're saying TR -- that deer can see blaze orange -- but not blaze pink Good luck getting hunters to wear pink.  Can you immagine a bunch of heavy grizzly hunters bellied up to a bar all wearing pink?   :ROTFLMAO:  I actually do have a pink camo t-shirt from my wife's "3 Day Breast Cancer" walk; I bought it to support the 3 Day -- and the "gals."   ;D

The second page of your article is okay when I pull it up.  It might be just a setting on your computer.  I am no computer expert, I would guess it has to do with the text size setting on how you view things?
