Saturday 10/13/07 Report

Got a call from Corby Yarwood requesting a repeat trip of the one we did 2 weeks ago when his son Tyler caught his first mounter pike. We started out at 6:00 am with dad getting the first big slam and the drag was a singing. As we started to gain ground on it, the fish broke water with the gills flared and head shaking. We had automatically figured it was going to be a northern up until that point, but It was actually a big largemouth.

Needless to say the single spinner bait hook got spit when she broke water. Oh the agony of defeat. We wound up landing 6 pike and had several shorts before switching over to some smallmouth fishing. We started out in 31 fow and were doing fine until things went silent. At that point I re-anchored in 23 ft and the game was back on. Other than a brief skirmish over the box of donut holes and a bag of Quakers Tyler and Matt managed to focus on the smallmouth real well.

We wound up with 21 smallmouths, 1 largemouth and 6 northerns. When the boys got back to their dock "Good OLD Mom" was waiting with their Burger King orders. Life don't get much better than that! Makes me wanna be a kid again.

See ya on the water,

Lee

MARRIAGE COUNSELING

A husband and wife came for counseling after 15 years of marriage.

When asked what the problem was, the wife went into a passionate, painful tirade listing every problem they had ever had in the 15 years they had been married.

She went on and on and on: neglect, lack of intimacy, emptiness, loneliness, feeling unloved and unlovable, an entire laundry list of un-met needs she had endured over the course of their marriage.

Finally, after allowing this to go on for a sufficient length of time, the therapist got up, walked around the desk and, after asking the wife to stand, embraced and kissed her passionately.

The woman shut up and quietly sat down as though in a daze.

The therapist turned to the husband and said, "This is what your wife needs at least three times a week. Can you do this?"

The husband thought for a moment and replied,..

Well, I can drop her off here on Mondays and Wednesdays, but on Friday's, I fish."
