Hey everybody, I just wanted to let you know that OJ (Outdoors_Junkie) went in to see the doctor today with bad abdominal pains and ended up being admitted for an emergency exploratory surgery for his appendix this evening.

I just heard back from him around 10:20pm and he is out of surgery and everything went well. They will be keeping him overnight and if all looks good he will be going home sometime tomorrow.

Please keep OJ and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he recovers at home.

He said the appendix was taken out, in his words...."it was bad"

The doctors told him he should be ok for hunting next weekend when we go up to URL so we will see. He has been a pretty quick healer in the past from ACL and other things so we'll see...

Thanks for the thoughts, prayers, and kind words.  I just got home from the hospital.  I am doing much better.  I just need to rest and heal up.  I am still planning on hunting the 2nd weekend in MN.  Realtree will have to drag my deer for me.

Well I guess this means I should bring the deer cart then huh?!  8)

Glad your home and on the mend bro! Take it easy and get some rest, I'm sure you didn't get any at the hospital with them taking vitals and poking and prodding you all night.

Prayers and best wishes from the entire crew here in Owatonna!  happy2.gif

Its great to hear your home and feeling better OJ, take it easy for a while and rest up for deer season.

Make sure you really take advantage of Rt next week. No dishes, no cooking, no dragging your deer, ask for breakfast in bed and have him deliver some lunch to you in your stand.  party2.gif

Family is always the last to hear about these things.  Looks like you get to relax a little this season -- the rest of us will take care of the dirty work for you.  We can put Isaac to work dragging, because he's not to handy with a knife yet.  We will be up late Thursday.  See you then.  fudd.gif

After getting a full nights rest I am feeling better this morning.  I do feel like a 95 year old man when I get up and walk (hunched over and very slow).  I am not in much pain (haven't had to take any pain med).  I don't think I will be doing any sit-ups for a while.  Those of you that know me, know I gave up sit-ups years ago to work on my beer gut.  I should be able to keep my plans of hunting next Wed through the followins Sunday in MN.

Aww c'mon RT!!  You want many more years hunting with OJ right.  Isn't this a man that's important to you??  I bet dollars to doughnuts that he'd do all this for you  INCLUDING the sponge bath and scrubbin your feet and everything.

Oh I heard he'd also like a feather pillow, a fleece blanket, and not much ice in his drinks.

RT, from all of us at MNO.  Thank you -- thank you -- THANK YOU for helping our friend OJ in this time of dire need.   love2.gif

I feel better and younger each day.  I started out feeling like a 95 year old man (hunched over and walking at a very slow pace).  Now I can walk upright without pain.  I had my staples removed yesterday.  I get the stiches removed next Tuesday before we leave for MN.
