Hi All.  I'm new to this forum,  but it looks like a great place.

Had a banner year this fall.  Shot a 195lb 10 point on opening weekend and a 205lb 9 point last weekend.  Can't wait for next year!

I live in Prior Lake,   but I'm orginally from the Chisholm area.  I still have a cabin up there, so I spend most weekends at the cabin.  Hunt in that area also.

If you have ever wondered if deer management works - well here is proof. It took a few years of passing up the little ones but eventually it has paid off. These bucks were taken in one small area and big boy that's still out there puts these to shame. Still a week and a half of muzzle loader left so there's a chance anyway - it was a cold day hunting today.

I am guessing these animals come from near Duluth am I wrong? And yes it does work by passing up little bucks.

Hey folks! nice bucks on here, congrats everyone. here's a buck that I've been after for a few years now. I picked up his sheds a couple years ago and got a nice trail camera photo of him last year as a 13 point. My brother and I had a phenomenal year. The bucks weighed 204, 211 and 216 pounds.

This is a picture of the ten pointer that my stepson shot on the last morning of the rifle season in zone one north of Itasca State Park.  He is twelve years old so this was his first year hunting.  He ended up with a doe, a fawn, and this buck which is going on the wall.  Not a bad way to start out.

Bigdog,

I bet your stepson is hooked for life on deer hunting.  Wow, what a huge buck!  It might be hard to beat that big boy next year!  Tell your stepson congrats!  I bet you are very proud.  Great job getting another young hunter hooked for life!  :happy1:
