WOW what a big bunch you got there.  Looks like a little spike with blonde hair on the left.   ;D

Those are great pictures.  I think that's better than a trophy on the wall.

We may not have gotten as many deer as we would have liked, but we did have a great time each night playing card games, swaping stories, and tipping a few cold ones.  I can't wait until next year.

You guys did well.  The first weekend we didn't see a deer.  My son is going up there this weekend, hopefully he will see something.  Where are you guys located up there?  We are west of Shotley.

We were up in the boonies between Waskish and Kelliher Mr Harry. There was not much moving all week while we were out. You had to step on 'em to get 'em to move with the little wind we had off and on from Wed til Sun.

In addition to the 4 ptr and the two does we took this past weekend, our party also took a nice 7 ptr the previous weekend. Some of the gang is heading back up this weekend to finish off the season so the story may not be finished yet..... 8)

We've been talking about the noise therory lately.  We have seemed to do better then the hunting camps around us.  Our theory is that we are here all the time making noise, and it doesn't bother them to move around us.  I've used a miter saw in the front yard, and saw them walking causualy on the hill side no more than 100 yrds away.

Here is the doe and buck I got hunting with my cousin (OJ) 2nd weekend.  Other MNO members Outdoors Realtree, dabahrden, Big D were all up there at URL too.

This nice Doe that I took at URL last week was the first deer that I have shot with my father-in-laws Remington 760 Gamemaster .308. When I borrowed it from him for this years deer camp, he informed me that the last time he had hunted with it was probably in 1976-1978 with his father-in-law in southwestern Wisconsin around Monroe or Rewey.

This was the first hunt that I have taken it on and got the doe with my first "hunting shot" fired with the 760 so it was a pretty special way to wrap up what was also my first deer camp at URL.

It was due to the invitation from OJ to hunt with his clan and the efforts of Bigbuckhunter who volunteered to "walk" Sunday morning to move the deer that I was able to harvest this doe and create this special hunting memory! I will always remember this first URL hunt because of that!  happy2.gif   ::rockon::   fudd.gif

Thanks OJ, Bigbuckhunter, Big D, dabahrden and the rest of the Jim Moline Gang for a fun and extremely memorable hunting experience !!!  happy2.gif

Outdoors_Junkie is third from the left in the middle row (orange sweatshirt and hat):

Bigbuckhunter is second from the left in front row with his buck and doe:

My grandpa started hunting up there in the early 50's.  Then my grandma joined him in the 60's.  My dad (their son-in-law) has gone since he married into the family in 1970, I started in 1985, and my son will be going this year for the first time.  Our family has had a cabin by URL since 1967.  Before that, my grandpa and his buddies would stay out in an old army tent with a wood stove.   :happy1:

It my favorite place to hunt and fish.
