Welcome to MNO.

The only advice I can offer is to wait until this spring and go knock on a hundred doors, you should be able to secure at least 1 or 2 properties to hunt on. Don't get discouraged by all the no's, if you knock on enough doors, you will hit the jackpot sooner or later. Pick a Saturday and fill the gas tank up and go hit the areas that you would like. Offer them something in return..... Fresh fish, game or help with some chores around the farm.

I do this myself every spring, I try to add at least one new hunting place every year.

I do not have to look for land but i do know some people that do and they have had good luck with asking if they can lease the hunting right to the land they usaly pay about 2 to 5 bucks an acre depending on were its at. then you also know you will be the only one on it.

I do know were there is some land in mankato that a family member owns  it is a old mink farm that is not in use and there is about 100 acres of woods and a smaller hay feild that is about 20 acres. he leased the hunting rights out for 2007 for i think around $400 for the year.
